Felt Tip Feelings: artistic workshops for the LBGTQ+ community

the Karma Project

Dana will lead 4 workshops for members of the LGBTQ+ community, utilizing art as a form of introspection and self exploration.

Each two-hour workshop will provide space for queer and gender non-conforming individuals to explore their emotions through artistic expression, while in safe community. Participants will use custom zine templates to create their own Coping Guides, and will leave with a deeper understanding of their emotions, coping skills and how to use the maps they’ve created.

United We Om feels blessed to be able to support Dana and the LGBTQ+ community when emotional coping skills matter more than ever.

meet the Creator

Dana Variano (she/they) is a nonbinary artist and communications strategist. By day they produce creative advocacy campaigns for issue-driven organizations, and by night they draw (in pen, on paper) and bike around the Hudson Valley.

Under the moniker felttipfeelings, Dana creates artwork that is a direct response to the frustration, joy, loneliness, and complex disconnection/connection created by modern digital media. They use visual data tools like charts, graphs, maps, and diagrams to explore the relationships between their emotions, fears, and anxieties, and dreams.
