Yoga Para Doña in Español

the Karma Project

Para Doña Yoga, led by yoga teacher Klaudia Paletta, will share free chair yoga classes for Spanish-speaking seniors living in Carpinteria, CA.

Para Doña Yoga offers seniors a supportive space focused on improving their flexibility, strength, and balance—all crucial factors in maintaining independence as people age.

Klaudia’s offering is designed to reduce physical discomfort and foster a sense of community, empowering our elders to take control of their well-being in a way that feels accessible, compassionate, and culturally relevant.

During the pandemic, Klaudia witnessed her Grandmother experience profound loneliness and isolation in her senior living facility. This inspired Klaudia to start sharing chair yoga with her Grandmother via WhatsApp and she saw first hand how their sessions together positively affected her Grandmother’s physical and mental well-being. This was the inspiration for her Karma Project with United We Om.

Klaudia is a first-generation Mexican American with a deep connection to the senior Spanish-speaking community.

Klaudia has led more than 300 Spanish-language yoga classes, specifically designed for older adults. Klaudia shared, “My commitment to these programs has been reinforced by witnessing the joy and connection it brings to seniors who may otherwise lack access to wellness practices.”
